This delicious, Sweet and Spicy Walnut Fruit Salad is the perfect addition to any picnic, BBQ, potluck or just as a snack to keep around the house. Instead of dessert, this fruit salad’s sweet, tangy taste will keep you from reaching for sugar loaded cookies and candies. Enjoy!
- 1 package strawberries, halved
- 1 package raspberries
- 1 mango, sliced
- 3 kiwis, peeled and sliced
- 2 apples (any color/brand), wedges
- 1 nectarine, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. hot water
- 3⁄4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
In a large bowl, combine all fruit.
In a small bowl, combine honey, hot water, and cayenne. Mix well. Add walnuts and stir until well coated. Place walnuts on baking sheet and broil for 1-3 minutes (watch them so they do not burn).
Stir walnuts into fruit before serving.
