I just wanted to give you guys a couple ideas on how to be healthy this time of year because between eating, drinking and the social experiences, there are some psychological triggers. If you’re trying to be healthy and maintain your weight, or make sure you don’t gain any weight over the holidays, here’s a couple of ideas for you.
1. Make sure you’re hydrated – Water really helps with sugar cravings and takes up room in your stomach so that you don’t over eat. I’m recommending at this time of year, you sit down and drink a full glass of water before your holiday meal.
2. Take your multivitamins – Cravings are triggered by vitamins and mineral deficiencies. Make sure you have your multivitamins in your system so you don’t HAVE to have some fudge or cinnamon rolls this time of year.
3. Eat foods with a shut off valve – Remember the foods you should be eating have a shut off valve. How many oranges can you eat? One, maybe two? How many pieces of fudge or how many pieces of chocolate can you eat? Tons! Until the box is empty.
Focus on the foods that have a shut off valve, make sure you are hydrated, and take your multivitamins.
Merry Christmas from the West Clinic! We’ll see you guys next year!
